Engine Management light

Featured Replies

Good afternoon

I have a skoda octavia 1.9 tdi late 2006 Elegance model,

The engine management light came about six weeks ago with an audible warming displayed on the maxi dot screen "emissions Workshop!" I took the car to an independent garage who diagnosed the fault with the Air

Mass meter or (MAF Sensor) Etc, After wait a few weeks a brand new MAF sensor and housing from bosch arrived which was installed yessterday 21 october 2011, after a brief 2-3 mile ride the engine management light stayed on and the same audible warming from the Maxix dot screen still read "Workshop Emmissions" today i took the car on 20 mile round trip and B***dy engine management is still on Maixidot Still Show the the same error,

this was an expensive part to replace costing £175.00,

Can someone explain why the Engine mangement light will not go out.

Cheers m8's

They've obviously not fixed the fault so take it back for a refund and take it somewhere that knows what there doing. The only way to check the reason is using VCDS to scan for faults, look for a local VCDS owner in the diags sub forum. However its worth going to a Skoda dealer or VAG specialist with the right kit.

Hi M0bov

The car was checked with VCDS software and showed the air flow to the sensor was to be the fault no other error came up.

cany you recommend a someone in the newport cardiff area who is capable of resolving this problem.

thanks

If you can find out the fault code it should be easier to suggest what it can be.
