Tyre sizes.

Featured Replies

G'day folks.

Been around Briskoda for a couple of years now, but just recently added a Fabia2 1.4 Tdi 80 to the collection, which is why I'm looking for info from the forum.

In the car bits for sale section a chap (Jon Shadforth) is selling 4 Vredestein Snowtrac 3; they are 195/65/15 and therein lies my dilemma: the alloys on the Fabia are shod with 195/55/15 and what I need to know (please!) is, will the 65s, on those alloys, foul the wheelarches or not?

Thanks in advance, Nick H.

Don't buy as the speedo will be 6.5% out as the rolling circumfarnce is way to big......look at this link for tyre sizes B)

Thanks for the link, bit of an eye-opener! I quite like my clean licence so I think I'll hang on to the tyres I have.

Thanks again, N.

The sizes you can go with are: 195/55-15 (obviously), 185/60-15 or 185/55-15 (recommended as suitable for use with snow chains if required on Skoda's German site)

Also approved for the 1.4TDi are 165/70 x 14 and 185/60 x 14, both are suitable for snow chains if fitted to an approved wheel.

14's are not available for all models due to brake clearance but the 1.4tdi is fine, you should have a sticker in your fuel filler cap with the available sizes listed.

Cheers

Lee
