Will they take me seriously?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am planning on getting a few quotes on a new fabia vrs to take to my one and only dealer in my area to see if he can better or match them.

i am planning on getting these other quotes by phone as i live on an island and phoning would make life easier.

Has anyone else done deals like this and do the dealers take you seriously if it's over the phone and not face to face.

Any dealers around south coast worth contacting? (I have looked on reviews already)

Thanks :)

Don't see why not.Just as a starting point(I know they are nowhere near you but..)Autosales Bilston were running an advert yesterday for Fabia vRS

they are a good and helpful dealer too... its my local dealership although i didnt buy my car from them...

i cant see why you wouldnt be taken seriously although some salesmen might be sceptical of the seriousness of your purchase with you calling over the phone rather than actually going into the showroom.

You should be fine phoning up and negotiating on prices - it's only if you've got a part ex that they won't talk numbers...

Can't comment on sales, but I've used Freeborn and Winchester Motor Company for servicing and been impressed by the standard of both. Freeborn also keep mailshotting me and telling me that they are after used high-quality cars like mine (do they actually remember my car? ;)) and have I seen the new Fabia vRS, and Octy II. They're also offering to do a great deal on either, but I haven't bothered following up as I can afford neither ;)

I don't see why that would be the case. I did all my bartering over the phone as I would never be able to get to a dealer in working hours without taking time off work. If they want your business & you sound serious about it on the phone, then it's no different to being in the showroom IMO :)

I assume you're on Guernsey or Jersey then?
