Greenline Vs Green Tec

Featured Replies

Hello,

Dealer tells me there is a Green Tec 140 Superb on the way with start stop etc.

Anyone know the difference between Green Tec and GreenLine....just a bigger engine?

Sounds like a play on VW's BlueMotion Technology? In the blurb for the Skoda Citigo car they talk about Green Tec.

Typical though eh, I am weeks away from my non-GL 140 Superb being delivered and there is a potential "green" version on the cards!

Found this text in a GreenLine brochure:

In addition to the GreenLine range we offer you the Green tec vehicles, which are noted for economical operation leading to reduced CO2 emission

levels. They have, among others, some of the same features as the GreenLine vehicles, such as the Start-Stop system, energy recovery functionality

or special tyres with low rolling resistance. The Green tec vehicles are available with both diesel and petrol engines: Fabia and Fabia Combi:

1.2 MPI/51 kW and 1.2 TSI/63 kW or 77 kW (petrol); Roomster: 1.2 TSI/63 kW or 77 kW (petrol); Octavia and Octavia Combi: 1.6 TDI CR DPF/77 kW (diesel) or 1.4 TSI/90 kW (petrol).

Sounds a bit like green tec is kind of halfway between standard and greenline versions then?

So it's like VW's Bluemotion (the real deal ie, skimmed milk)and Bluemotion Technology (the halfway house, semi-skimmed) then.

aiui from my sources VW Bluemotion is getting some further tweaks for MY-12, so maybe this is MY-11?? BlueMotion tech filtering down to Skoda.

So maybe some BM tech also filtering down onto Skoda DSG versions too?
