to all those running over 230bhp

Featured Replies

I am currently looking to upgrade to stage 2 turbo with new FMIC and have been advised that this could affect the gearbox & drive shaft and that I should consider and oil cooler. I don't intend to do track days / santa pod.

Have any of you changed or added these parts.

Any feedback / advice welcom.

Do you think 220bhp is adequate or would you go for the lot (probably a stupid question on here I guess)

Gearbox will be fine

Oil cooler not really required for sensible road use

I got an oil cooler as it was over heating under hard use (and still does, but less) but lots of other 220bhp+ Fabia's don't have them so it will be fine.

Gearbox will be fine too. You will ideally need a clutch and flywheel upgrade though.

220bhp is fine unless you want to start spending a lot more to just go a bit faster.

Problem is, the faster you go the more you have to uprate other things to cope, so I'd stick at 200-220bhp for road use in a Fabia.

Drivetrain should be fine unless you really abuse it.

As said above, you'll need the clutch sorting out though to handle more power.

Oil cooler is not really needed.

cheers guys - I have a Sachs Performance Clutch rated to 400 lb/ft so this should do (I've been told) - main thing I was worried about was gears and oil temp.

looks like I'll give it a go then

thanks for the advice
