Featured Replies

My Avic X-1R has been running happily on a copy of the original DVD for about 2 months now. But you do need DVD writer that will write double-layer DVDs.

Yep done that, just doesn't like reading CDR's. Been running my one for about a year and a half now.

Here is an interesting place to visit.

What do you mean mate ?

I use TomTom Navigator 5 on my PDA - Its annoying hooking up the PDA all the time to use it but cant afford to change really, but always been interested in what the software is like compared to these dedicated HU types...

the software is crap, its out of date it has no points of intrest that are actually of intrest . it doesnt know where petrol stations are. it sends you down the wrong sides of roads and roundabouts it seems slow to update, it sends you routes that blatently arnt the shortest or quickest, it doesnt recognise some junctions, its not easy to just try to get it to go to somewhere other than a address or postcode etc or street.

the display i didnt thing was a very good picture, dvd playback was clunky due to controls, no case for the front panel, the screen gets very dirty, its fairly loud the fans inside it.

oh and its like a beacon to theives
