I am new and have a dealership dilemma

Featured Replies

Hi,

I drive a 1.9 skoda fabia sport and recently it went into the garage for it's annual service. On the way home we realised that there were a number of scratches on the windscreen, side windows and most notably on the rear blacked out window. We phoned the dealer straight away and were told that the service manager would inspect the vehicle. He did so and confidently told us he would polish the 'marks' away. After about 5 mins he reluctantly agreed that this was not going to work - (I can get my finger nail in some of the scratches!!) He assured me that he would look into getting the glass replaced.

Six weeks later I am now in negotiation with the area manager who claims that his (contracted out) valet team would not have done this damage and is not returning phone calls.

Any ideas about what I should do next?? There is no way those scratches were there before the car went into the garage.

Might be worth a call to Skoda customer services and maybe trading standards?

Do you have legal cover with your insurance? May be worth getting them involved if available.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome - as above, get the lawyers in!

I wouldn't be surprised if the brain dead imps these places employ have dragged grit over the whole car :(

What dealer is it? (just so that others who take their cars there can request that they are not washed...)
