Octavia VRS **VERY BAD CLUNKING ON FULL LOCK **

Featured Replies

HELP!!!

I have got an Octavia VRS 2005 model which i have bought off an auction. The car is clean enough and has been previously repaired (Cat D), looks as if it was N/S suspension damage plus a bit on the cill.

HOWEVER!!!

The car has an horrendous clunking / banging on right hand bends and under load when accelerating. I have changed the hub / drive shaft and this has made no difference.

Before swapping the gearbox does anyone have any ideas / had this problem.

I am beginning to think diff?!?!!? After all the suspension has been swapped due to damage, has the impact moved or damaged the diff?!?!

HELP

THANKS!!

Does it still make the noises with the clutch down?

I'd be more inclined to check the subframe and wishbones, my wishbone was cluncking much the way you discribed after i didn't tighten the front bolt enough

Not actually checked that yet so wil do in the morning.

It does feel like a rotational type wobble clunk if that makes sense. It is continuous and vibrates the car good!!

Thanks.

Suspension top mount? If the suspension has been "repaired" did they replace everything or just the shock and spring
