Sorry for the potentially obvious question, got my belt kit and water pump replaced today - does it need to be done every 40k/4 years or is that it for a while? Parts were OE VAG stuff so assume the pump has plastic impeller. Will it require replacement at some point in the not to distant future?

60k or 4yr.

Probably worth doing each time as the additional cost is minimal.
