Yeti and Tune IT

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have been pondering buying a Tune it V-CR box for my Yeti, not that 170 bhp isn't enough, more for the fuel economy it promises to deliver.

I got my Yeti on 15th August and today it clocked 11,000 miles :o so a few miles per gallon saving will make a difference.

Question is, has anybody tried one on a Yeti? I notice a few threads on the other forum boards but none answer my question and I can't ask a techy as I am not a freedom member :(

Here is a LINK to the item for my Yeti.

I had a similar device on my vw transporter but then had it replaced with a remap from shark using their sts. The difference was remarkable. No idea if the yeti would be the same but I can't recommend shark highly enough

i thought shark were the best modders for VAG models?

I was looking at the add on box so as it can be removed for servicing at the dealer, I had an Audi A4 B8 remapped and when it went for a service the dealer had done a software update for something or other and this had also reset the re map! so other than pay for it again I left the car stock for the three years I had it.

I will contact Tune It and see if I can get a try before I buy as there website suggests.

Just out of interest where is Shark?

Shark do an STS box so that you can remove the map anytime you need to ,and it is very easy to use (you would need to confirm with Shark first that it is compatible with your ecu ).You can get your map by email so that you can do it from home.

Beat me to it. The sts means you plug in remove the map and then restore it when you get back from the dealer.

sounds ideal, do you have a link to Shark please

Will I need a lead or software?

They are a site sponsor , just look up sharkperformance through google or post up a question on the sharkperformance pages on Briskoda.

found them and had a quick look, they don't seem to have anything for Yeti, as you can see here I will call them on Monday.

The CR170 will more than likely have a locked ecu and will need "open heart surgery"

If you look at my project, in the project section, I have posted a link to what Ben at Shark Performance did. It is highly unlikely that the STS unit will work with your car.

By the way this should really be in the performance upgrades section, after all that has been going on over the last few days.....

there's a performance upgrades section?

I know it's a sensitive topic just now and I agree with the sorting out that has been done but I would never in a million years have picked this sort of thread up as being non model specific. :wonder:

+1 - this should really be moved and will be useful to other members who have the same engine but in other models.

Also, Shark dont advertise a STS for the CR170 yet.

Or a CR140, which is why Elsie had open heart surgery. He wasn't expecting it to happen soon either.
