you maen mk1 or mk2, id say a 58 plate vrs tdi is a mk2

Ok I see if I get the full car showing open doors is Maxi Dot is this an optinal extra then. On 1st test drive car the fuel light was in rev window on the 2nd car it shown in the middle window, not sure if this is significant.

Yes Maxidot is an optional extra, except on DSG (automatic gearbox) equipped car's where it is standard.

Maxidot allows you access to a number of different computer settings (locks, lights etc.) in addition to looking better.

The fuel light on non-Maxidot clusters is just another light (similar to the door open light pictured), whereas on the Maxidot display you get a pixilated graphic of the fuel pump.

I've two Octavia's, one with and one without Maxidot and to be honest I don't have any real preference.
