Can anybody give me the ABS module coding from a Yeti 4x4?

Featured Replies

Hi mates.

Well, as I write in the Topic Title, I´m trying to activate the Off Road function in my 2011 Scout. I think that Yeti and Scout share most of the parts and maybe the Off Road function could be activated in the Scout with some Vag-Com config and a button to turn it on/off.

A friend of mine gave me this ABS module ifo from a 2011 Tiguan:

Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: None

Part No SW: 5N0 614 109 Q HW: 5N0 614 109 Q

Component: J104 C4 450 V2E7 0006

Revision: --H28--- Serial number: 00000003455329

Coding: 0002333

Shop #: WSC 01357 011 00200

VCID: 3957FBA809DF

If someone could give me the same info from a 2011 Yeti 4x4 would be one step more to compare with my Scout and study this mod...

Thanks in advance ;)

David.

Wow!!! Thank´s a lot!! That´s an impresive quick answer!!

;)

I understand that your Yetis have Off-Road button? Right?

I´ll try to check mine one today and I´ll post it on the forum. I´ll share this info with a couple of spanish friends (VAG-COM Gurus) and I´ll try to get some interesting info from your replies... :D

Can anyone with a 4x4 Yeti with no Off-Road button post it´s module info? And if someone with a 4x2 Yeti (ofcourse without Off-Road function) could post it too would be superb!! I hope with all this to get something clear.

Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!

Regards from Spain.

Great!! :)

I suppose that only 4x4 versions could have Offroad button option...and not all the 4x4 have it. Is this right?

Yes, that is correct.

Here you go Deivid a few more for you to compare, I have highlighted the differences in the codes for you - good luck! :giggle:

I am not sure which of the below have the "off road button" but I have included the info I do know.

(If any of the owners want their username removing from the log then let me know and I will remove it for you ... there is no info included that can be used by anyone with few morals shall we say :giggle: .)

No issues with you posting that Martin.

BUT how weird is that?!?! Rockhopper and myself have the exact same Yetis: 2,0 TDI 140 DSG Elegance and both have standard Off road buttons.... Why are there so many differences? And as you show above they are only a month apart in age!

And then to the OP: I've used my Off road button twice. It is amazing for sure but you really don't need it to go rough places. Llanigraham has an SE 4x4 Yeti sans said button and he will drive rings around anyone with this button engadged on an off-road course (I'm led to believe! :giggle: ) So I really won't go to all the trouble to install one. Unless you really, really need it.

I know Johann!

I can understand it if it was under 09-Central Electronics as the difference would be purely down to personal preferences (ie if one of you wanted selective unlocking and the other didn't etc) but the ABS I too would of thought would of been pretty identical between two cars the same spec and age :wonder:

I sure that the off-road button it´s something that we really don´t need in most of the times, but to me it´s a goal... :) I´m very curious with this things, and I like to discover this kind of secret tricks... maybe this could help Scout and Yeti owners without Off-Road Button. ;)

That´s quite odd... would be very useful to have the description of the coding Bytes... On my VAG-COM I can´t do it. It shows a warning that says something like I can´t have this info and must request it to Rosstech... where could I found this info?

That´s what I get from my Scout:

Thanks, I feel that we are moving forward with this...

Thanks for that vote of confidence, Johann.

The OR button is there to make life easier for the unskilled or untrained, and to be honest can result in that driver going beyond his or the car's capabilities all to easily. Yes it is good for what it is, an AID, and nothing more than that. It cannot replace adequate training and experience.

So Graham,

Not sure if this has been asked before but how do you feel about organising a Welsh off road day so we can learn from the Master?

I, for one, would welcome such an opportunity, and I wouldn't mind paying for it either.

Talking of which, how many beer tokens would you require? :giggle:

I was hoping to arrange something along the lines of the Yeti Adventure I ran before, but slightly more "demanding", however work and family has got in the way. The problem is that I only get one long weekend off every four.

I doubt I would charge anything, to be honest, but never say no to a beer bought for me!

Watch this space.

My Yeti was registered December 2010 -PDI 5th January.

Equally no problem posting part of my scan-Gizmo, Martin,-one of the most helpful men I've met

I missed the 2011, this is from my 2010 1.8 TSI 4x4

Hi :)

a couple of questions... had this Yeti DSG and Off Road button?

  • Author

There was no DSG on a 2010 1.8 TSI 4x4.

Yes there is Off Road button.

Thanks for the info... ;)

This Yeti was very nice...

  • 1 year later...

I'm sorry for my archaeology at first.

In ABS coding, bytes 05, 07, 09, 11, 13 are different in every car because these bytes are last 5 digits of VIN number.Probably Off Road Mode Button is coded in byte 14 bit 7 I think.
