EPC Light has blinked into life

Featured Replies

Just to cap of my crappy week with vehicles on Mrs Pasty's commute home this evening the EPC light on the Fabia has come on and has decided to stay illuminted.

I've been out for a spin and it still has all it's grunt so there no limp mode to be seen but the light is definitely on.

I can't help but think this has something do with me swapping out my knackered green cotton filter and sticking an OEM one back in but surely that can't be right?!

I did lose one of the screws to the airbox down the back of the engine, so it's only held down with the front screw bur it seems to be sealed tight

Any way either of the above are likely to cause an EPC light or do i need to get it scanned before I can have any clue at all.

Scan it. :) Could well be nothing, but best be safe. Probably just sensed something wrong for a split second and generated the fault causing the CEL to come on. :) Shame it didn't happen at the weekend as I had VCDS in the car. :D

My thoguhts exactly!

Is it likely that too much air/less air would cause it to throw a wobbler?

I have some news on this!

It seems our clever little Fabia has fixed itself!

No light on from the top of Birdlip all the way home!

Unmetered air warning maybe?

Considering the lid isn't completely screwed down, could have sucked in extra air...

*shrug*

yep light has come back on this evening

i'm assuming it HAS to have something to do with my airbox tinkering

Booked in for a scan (and hopefully a new screw) on Saturday

Not something like a loose connection to the MAF or anything? Unsettled the plug for it?
