Skoda Fabia 2001 Comfort 1.4

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Recently bought Skoda Fabia, just on my second drive I noticed a static Amber/Orange engine management warning light.I am not sure what does it exactly represent? is it related to engine oil or something major? Is there any way to check fault code.please advice. cheers

Barring the obvious - checking water levels, oil levels, etc - then you're gonna have to get something hooked up to read the fault codes.

You can either buy a cheapy cheap ebay cable and use vcds-lite, or find someone who has a cable - There's a forum thread listing where people are closest to you.

Or you could pop to a local brisky meet - i've usually got the laptop and a cable, i'm sure others do similar.

Or... You take it to a garage and pay them £30+ to read the codes out for you. Your choice...

...And welcome. :)

Thanks Chris for your reply. Can you please tell me the specifications of the cable and the software. I do check the oil level and water levels.

Hope I find someone nearby. I am based in Reading.

Thanks

well my garage read my fault codes for free, so i guess it depends on what your relationship is like with your garage, i send mine alot of business because they are very cheap, very reliable and trustworthy too. in return they charge me minimal amounts for cars i take them.

for example, my missus service is due, i asked for a Fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, plugs, oil and coolant. and replace front pads. They have quoted me £120 cash for the whole job, dropping it in on friday.
