The EGR vavle is reading a fault code on the missus car,

when i had a vauxhall i just blanked it off,

since it's been playing up she has lost fuel economy.

should i just replace it, or will it have no negative effects on fuel economy or MOT if i blank it off, and if i blank it off where do i get a plate from

You sure it's an AFH? I thought that was a MK4 Polo engine?

no i'm not sure if it's an AFH. all i know is it's the 100bhp 16v engine, in which case i have bought the wrong part from the breakers!!!! BUGGER

i didn't know the reg so just told them it's an AFH, whats an AFH engine then???

so u saying it could be an AFK or an AUB instead, well hopefully they all use the same EGR part

It's an AUB, the AFK is a different engine fitted to the MK4 Polo and has vacuum operated EGR not solenoid like yours.

What's the fault code? Insufficient flow by chance?
