Best way to flush cooling system

Featured Replies

Had a faulty oil cooler on my car and got it changed but they did a crap job of flushing the cooling system so there's still oil the coolant bottle  , now i wonna do it myself to make sure it's sorted, and then get a new coolant bottle so the coolant light will stop coming on, i no the spa's in skoda should have done all this but if ya wont it done rite you just have to do it yourself.

In the absence of a reply from one of our resident experts, I would be inclined to buy a Haynes Manual for a comparable Golf and follow the procedure in that. My neighbour had a Rover which suffered from this problem and there was no easy way to get rid of all traces of oil.

Thanks for the reply, best way i find is to open and close the coolant bottle when the engine is hot then any of the oil that is sitting in the coolant bottle is pushed out the over flow pipe from the pressure, not the fasted way tho!
