Oil for vrs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was given an oil for my vrs from the motor factors, its k2 texar 5w-30 ultra 100% synthetic motor oil, i am not 100% sure if its ok for my car, it says 505.00 at the back but on the oil guide it says oil has to be 505.01? since i had the oil put in the car feels alot different bit noisier aswel im just not 100% sure if its ok for the engine or not, does anyone have an idea if this oil is ok?

thanks

Mark

oil for the vRS has to meet 505.01 spec, the oil you've bought doesn't.

Get it out and buy the correct stuff.

I got 5l of the Quantum 505.01 oil from my Skoda dealer yesterday. £18+vat

Just got quoted £32.51 inc VAT from TPS. Are some dealers just stocking the long life oil now 507.00 to make more mark up?

Is that the Platinum? I phoned up my friendly VW van center yesterday and got quoted about £34.61(ish) including VAT - so I went online and bought it from a Skoda dealer for £29.99 delivered, I had meant to use Fuchs but GSF don't seem to sell it and Opie oils are a bit expensive.

Is that the Platinum?

yup
