Yeti Electric Seats

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I took delivery, last week of a new Yeti Elegance and initially I was very pleased with it. It drives like a dream, and as it replaced a 9 year old motor the "toys" are brilliant. BUT......as an OE I have electric drivers seat with memory and this has quickly become a disappointment. The three manual controls work OK. However, the memory function works erratically. I had the Skoda garage take a look and it seemed to work for them but as soon as I got it home it failed again.

The actual storing of seat positions is confirmed by the audio beep but it will not recall the set seat positions on any of the 3 buttons.

The seat does however intermittently partially move towards the inputted position and it was this movement, I feel, that I mistook for the seat working at the dealers.

Anybody had anything similar with their e/seat??

Yes!

Many thanks Merlinman......could you please tell me if that Seat Controller is the actual buttons on the side of the seat.....or is it under the bonnet somewhere.

Thanks again

Think it's under drivers seat - will check ETKA tomorrow?

The control unit for seat and backrest is under the seat, out of interest the cost is £237 (not that you'll be paying). I understand that there was a fairly significant (in terms of number of units produced) number of units that were faulty, produced around June and July 2011. Or it could be a different fault entirely of course, either way its simply a warranty issue.

This is different to the memory buttons not working at all situation which afflicted many of us when our cars were new when the factory simply did not code them correctly, which is a simply a coding issue for your dealer and quick to resolve.

It seems I have a similar problem with my new Yeti. I suspect a wrong batch of seat controllers. I tried a memory reset procedure, but it didn't solve the problem. See my recent post below :

Chances are it is just the control unit which will not require motor and sensor replacement (referring to your other thread). So even a poor Belgium dealership should be able to handle a simple replacement, I'd give it a go rather than leave your Yeti in severe pain, that's too cruel :giggle: . Or you could always take a trip to blighty and get a gold star treatment!

Well the dealer had it back and said a new component was fitted. We tried it out together (but this was with the diagnostic cable still connected). In the cramped confines of the workshop it seemed to work ok. I gave it a good check the next day when I had the second remote. It dosn't always work properly. In fact it now occasionally mixes the remotes up and puts the seat in exactly the wrong position.

This is turning into a very time-consuming matter.

Would the diagnostic machine show up my fault?

As anyone had similar ie dealer failing to get it right ??

Should it take it to another Skoda dealer?
