EGR Gasket

Featured Replies

The EGR gasket that is suppose to make you car hessitate around 1800k well mines started to do this, Im sure i read somewhere if you take it to skoda they will replace it with a dif size hole? I can find the info on it that i read a few months back.

Will they change it and do you think it will stop my hessitation problem, everything is running fin its just in the range it stutter slightly.

All the info you need is at My link

If you send it to a skoda dealer, they will fit a 14mm gasket which doesn't fully cure it, best buy the 9mm gasket (£3.00) and fit it yourself, easy-peasy! Two bolts and switch the gaskets over.

Ive done it and it works, only problem is you get the engine management light come on randomly for so long and go off. Doesn't harm you engine just the computer thinks theres something wrong because the gasket size has changed, would have changed a few engine 'charateristics' I think it comes on more if your taking it easy or crusing the motorways mainly. Might be able to map it out, but i cant clarify that

If it's only just started doing it, it is unlikely to just be the gasket needing changed (only applies to BLT engine and not ASZ). It is more likely to be in order.

1: EGR valve failing

2: Split vacuum hose between vacuum control box and EGR valve, or vacuum hose to brake servo

3: Camshaft wear and bucket tappet wear
