The rear number plate lamps are 5w capless i.e. The same as your sidelights.

How about trying looking at the stickies and RTFM?

If the number plate bulb holder won't unscrew you can get to the bulbs by removing the tailgate trim. Led bulbs arnt good for the outside a few of us had problems with the leds when the temp was near freezing

they should be fine for number plate lights tho? I've had the same set of led in my side lights for about 4 years in all weathers.

I've replaced them now with a set of 501 led bulbs i had laying around and went through the tailgate trim was nice and easy :)

Dunno m8 i think 2skodafamily had problems with his and i went though a set last winter on my side lights, as soon as it gets below 5 degrees i'm putting normal bulbs back in

yes, I had cheap LED sidelights which stopped working when the outside temps dropped below freezing. They're working well in my interior lights though.
