how do I release spare wheel bracket

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Felicia pick up S reg. It is parked in my drive and has a flat tyre. The spare is underneath the van and held on by a bracket. The bolt holding the bracket to the van is very rusty and I do not know how to undo it. I shall try to explain the bolt. The bolt is about a cm across and has a cover on it, which came off very easily and exposed a flat disc with four holes in it. There is a band around the edge that turns but does not come off.

They normally just have a wheel bot on there, it sounds like from your description that somebody has used a locking wheel bot in there. So you will either need the correct locking wheel bolt socket or you will gave to grind it off.

TT, Thank you,

I'd not heard of a locking wheel nut. After reading your post,I mentioned it to a friend. They suggested I look in the glove compartment for the key, and there it was. I've owned my pick-up for what must be ten-years and not noticed it.

Legedary  those locking wheel bolts are a right royal pain up the **** sometimes.
