Octavia alternatives

Featured Replies

I have a 2005 octavia.

I am looking to upgrade the head unit from a stream MP3, to a bolero or columbus.

The thing is, the boleros don't come up that often, and the columbuseseses ar silly money. So my question is this:

Is there other similar models from VW, SEAT etc, whose head units would fit and work? I just want to widen the search out as much as possible.

Sorry if this info is common knowledge already. I can't seem to find a definitive list of what is compatible with my car.

I have just sold a Bolero!

There were a couple more on ebay.

The VW equivalent is the RCD 510, but it will have a VW logo and be illuminated in a different colour.

So if I but a bolero from a 2010 model, which is what they all seem to be, will it work in my car?

I don't have maxidot or other bells and whistles, I will only need the radio, CD player and sd card reader to work.

Would it physically fit the hole on my dashboard?
