Lowering & headlight alignment

Featured Replies

When you lower the car, will this upset the alignment of the headlights?

Should have some Eibach springs soon (cheers black magic!), but will have to pay a visit to the dealer if they do need aligning again.

I don't think it will have much effect. I guess lowering by 30mm will actually help a bit as it will lower the beam angle very slightly, so in any given situation you're going to be marginally less likely to dazzle someone? (well, not angle, but for the same given angle the beam will be pointing slightly less further in front of you, know what I mean? :))

I like having my "- to 3" settting, so I can adjust my beam to point right out ahead, or only a few feet in front of the car, depending on raffic/driving conditions.

Forgot to mention I have xenons. I think these are set at a low angle intially, to prevent dazzling & there is no manual adjustment, just the auto-levelers.

Would have to set it up thro' VAG-COM.

They should be ok... if its proper vRS springs your going for.

i know Faboka RS had to raise his xenons after fitting tdi springs which made his car nose-down a bit.

As colin said. Only needs to be done with none vRS springs and yes it has tobe done using Vag-com. Theirs info about it on the Ross Tech website.

I've been told they are proper vRS springs.

Thinking about it, I suppose the auto-levelers will sort things out once the springs are fitted. In the same way as if the car was fully loaded.
