Pics of Tinted Octy VRS?

Featured Replies

Hello!

Thinking about getting my Octy tinted. Just wondered if anyone has got any pics of theirs tinted, preferrably a black Octy vRS.

Either light tint all around (50%), or light at the front and dark on the rear (50%/35%)... anyone?

Cheers

Pics of mine with reflective black alloy window film.

40% on the sides and 20% on rear window.

You're car looks so good I'm almost tempted to get mine done. But then I'd have to put more effort into keeping it clean :(, so maybe not.

yeah, thats legal mate. Looks very nice.

is that a legal combo mate?,looks spot on,and what i want to do on mine,to protect the kids from UV rays of course ;)

Yes, it's legal, though I think I've got the percentages terminology the wrong way round. The higher the percentage, the more light transmission then? In which case the front side windows are half the tint of the rear doors and hatch. See a different angle:

Yeah, the percentage represents the amount of light which can pass through the tint. So 50% would be lighter than 25%... Some very nice pics there mate!

ahh gotcha,50% front 25% rear then?

looks very nice indeed

while i remember this is ok ontop of the factory tint? just don't an to upset plod if i can help it

so what is the legal limit

  • Author

legal limit is that you cannot go darker than 50% on the front 2 windows, however on the rear windws, and back, you can go as dark as you want.

but the windows already have a certain percentage tint on them, so putting a 50% tint on them will take them over the limit. Or something like that :D

Lol... Its ok to put 50% on the front, it passes the Police light test thing which they do.

i went for 40% on the sides and 20% on the rear (same tinter that monkey boy used) and that passes the light test fine.

See avatar or gallery for more pics.

I thkn you will find the front windows of the octy are tinted to the legal limit as they are....(look very close and you wil see they are tinted) altho 50% may still pass the light test...this means very little...you still can be asked to remove the film on the road side fail to do so will result in your car being taken off you...i know people who has been a victim of this... if you are worried about security Abs...you can get a clear security film to put on your windows and prevent them from being smashed...
