How to enable TMC for Ireland

Featured Replies

Hello,

TMC does not work in Ireland on the Columbus head unit even though there is a service available provided by TrafficNav which work great on Garmin Satnavs.

I have found that the map update CD has a file called TMCConfig.ini with the settings below.

Does anyone know what the various lines/columns mean and whether it is possible to edit the file to enable the TMC service in Ireland.

What you are trying to do is, I think out of line with the boards' rule:)

But to answer to your question, yes you can do that:)

Most countries has TMC coverage but sadly VW is too cheap to pay for it, cause in some countries TMC is provided by privat companies. Garmin and TomTom has pretty much working TMC all over Europe.
