Upgraded suspension fitting in N Ireland?

This is a bit off-topic, but I feel this is where I'll find the advice ..

I want to have fitted to my new Octavia II something like a B12 Pro-Kit springs and shocks, Whiteline anti-roll-bars and anti-lift-kit.

Do I need to cross the water to a workshop like AwesomeGTI in Manchester to be certain to get it well done, or is there an equivalent independant in Northern Ireland (or Dublin perhaps?)?

Can I trust a main dealer to do the work, and if so, which? (My concern especially includes the fact that none of these parts are OEM and that the main dealers are not experienced with them - they're also very expensive - there's also the need to be able to set the geometry with 4-wheel alignment which a main dealer would not have.)

I'd be very grateful if any enthusiasts from this island could give me a steer in the right direction. Thanks in anticipation.

JW service centre: these guys have done a fair bit of work for me in the past, always found their work faultless. never had suspension done, but they fitted my Hybrid turbo etc to my last car, and specialise in VAG cars.

sorry, posted the wrong website in error, I would think its fairly obvious from my location that I might know what Im talking about, ever heard of google?

I use mobile tapatalk which does not show location. I followed your link and it took me to Guildford, Surrey. It's easy to misread the title of a post

Thanks for the suggestion.

Can I ask you as a fellow enthusiast if you needed suspension fitting would you be happy to go there? I ask as there is nothing on their website (it says it is under construction) - are they quite new?Further, are main dealers reliable for such work in your opinion?

Thanks.

I would be happy to go there yes, as I said, they have previously done work for me to a high standards, I know a few local Dealerships use them for VAG work also! they arent that new, but are so busy they have no need of a website really, they are always booked up about a month in advance!

also, there is a small local garage near me that I have used in the past, they actually fitted my suspension setup to my last Mk2 Octavia, they are also very good, they spend a lot of time doing Rally car work and setup (almost every day) and I have confidence in their work

daz ... Your help has been great .. Can I ask a bit more?

Is there a reason in your opinion not to use a main dealer? Apart from probably being dearer, can one be certain of reliable workmanship?

Also, you mentioned you upgraded your Octavia II - was it worth it - does the ride get a lot better? I'm wanting control and firmness: did you use coilovers or better springs and shocks?

no problem, always glad to help, as I need to ask questions now and again too and hope for an answer! The main reason not to use a dealer is price really, aside from that there is no reason why they shouldnt know how to fit the suspension to the type of cars they work on every day, although often they wont have an understanding of the point of aftermarket parts etc.

I never regretted the upgrades to my previous Octavia at all, otherwise I wouldnt do it again, I would advise upgraded springs and shocks for road use to be honest, Coilovers are only if you want to go really low, and are often too stiff and bouncy (imo) I previously had the Eibach Pro shock and spring system (recommended), and this time Ive gone for Weitec Shocks and Springs from DPM performance, I will be fitting them in the next few weeks, and will let you know how it goes!

Would that be the b12 pro-kit, daz? That's been recommended to me by DPM also, along with an anti-lift kit and whiteline rear ARB. Leaning towards that and fitting at JW.
