TV coverage of Skoda Team

Featured Replies

Did you watch the Rally coverage this weekend? The ITV should hang their heads in shame, It was pants. Eurosport wasn

It's true they do that but to be honest I reckon it's Skoda's responsibility to start doing well rather than ITV's to show them on TV - after all we on here like skodas but the general viewer just wants to see the leaders in action.

If skoda want coverage they should be up there with the big boys!

Its a pain when they keep following the same teams year in, year out. I wish they would show more of skoda and other lesser known teams.

Very true, the ITV coverage is very poor, they very rarely give updates of how the cars outside the top eight are doing, unless someone has a major accident or somethng like that. Its as if ITV don't really seem to put much effort into the coverage they show, maybe they don't get as many viewers as they would like or something, but then again, if the coverage was properly advertised beforehand then maybe more people would watch it. I don't know how many times I have happened to turn on the tv and see the rallying on, only to find that there are only a few minutes left, due to the fact that I was not made aware of the fact that it was on, its extremely annoying... :thumbdwn:

Did anyone see Jani just miss the cow while side-ways going around the bend . I don't think he believed it as he looked in his mirror after it to check :D

That's simply not true. People want to see the most exciting action of the day. I've seen F1 coverage that concentrated almost entirely on a battle for 10th place, and it was far more exciting that watching Schuey lapping alone.

ok ok maybe so but in rallying they are always "lapping alone"!!

I'm surprised actually that I'm the only one who thinks it's up to Skoda to get their **** in gear and start being competitive!

Exactly, so why not show the most interesting and exciting driving?

I think a lot of their problems are down to budget. Uncle VAG isn't giving them the money they need to run a competitive rally team.

The problem with the WRC is that it costs a fortune for very little return and ITV are running the show as a filler to fit a time slot, also one of the WRC Fabia Skodas that was recently purchased by a Northern Ireland driver is already up for sale for

Even if they won a stage I'm sure it would be covered briefly and in fact more time spent talking to Peter to work out why he didn't win it.

They do need to get much more competitive, dam they were winning before some of these companies had worked out what cars were.

Big year for Skoda this year, anniversarys and all, I hope I really hope Jani blitz's one like he did last year, just one or two of those big stage wins will catapult them.

The bizzare thing is in grp A the fabia's dominate, or did the last time I brought Motorsport News
