Bosch Aero wipers knocking!

Featured Replies

Hi all I fitted a pair of these wipers and the drivers side one seems to go a bit too far on the way up and knocks/ catches the pillar.

In case I've been a bit daft and put them on the wrong side can I just check, does the 21inch go on the passenger side?

Thanks

Mine last 3 bosch ones are exactly the same, the drivers one catches on the a pillar! It ****es me off to be honest! It seems the small plastic bit on the end is the offending item.

Ill watch this thread i think incase there is a fix!

repostion your wiper arm so it sits slightly lower at the bottom of your windscreen, mine did this after i had windscreen replaced takes like 2mins to readjust it

Thanks, seems a bit of a pain to adjust it though, but it seems like a quick fix

take the 13mm nut off the wiperarm and screw back on a couple of threads bring the wiper arm upright so its off the windscreen wiggle the bottom part of the wiper side to side on the spindles pulling gently should come loose.

reposition where desired locate back on spindles and tighten 13mm nut

My bosche ones are perfect :S

Same thing happened on my old car- simply reposition the wiper arm and tighten with a spanner :)

Don't leave it though.

The paint will damage very quickly, I've seen it happen

on foeys car. You may need a puller though, they are sometimes

a sod to shift.

a sod to shift.

Sod's not the word, I think **** is more apt lol

I broke a puller trying to do my octavia

Thought the 21inch one goes on the drivers side.

Anyway I had the same problem, fitted bosch (normal style with a spoiler) and it was hitting the A-piller at motorway speeds.

Just had to undo the wiper arm (think it's a 10 or 13mm nut) and re-position the wiper arm so it sits lower down (only say 5mm), so it's enough to not hit the A-piller anymore

You may struggle getting the wiper arm free, as it's probably rusted on good and proper. You'll need a wiper puller, or lots of man power+wd 40

As above had a problem with my drivers blade knocking. like fook could i get the arm off :(

Aero twin however do not catch the pillar.

The use of a wiper arm puller c/o E-Bay was needed to remove both wiper arms.

Corrosion between the wiper-arm alloy and the steel wiper spindles to blame.

Once removed and cleaned, I smeared copper-based grease before re-assembly, and made it easier the next time.

Oh! I needed to access the front chamber below (wipers) plastic grill area, hence both wiper arms were required to be removed.
