Fitted my 312mm brakes!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My new 312mm front brakes are now on & being bedded in for a few hundred miles. I'm taking it gently but can already feel there's better performance there without having to stop with conviction :-) highly recommend this mod!!

Was a bit worried about there being clearance for the caliper but actually there's a few mm's gap in it, and thanks to the slim wheel weights no issues there either!

Thanks to all who contributed to helping me get this underway :-)

Is there a rear upgrade too, as my rears are now looking rather weedy lol ;-)

Yep!...there are two I think they use Octavia calipers...not 100% certain about that tho.........anyway BOSSFOX has the bigger rear brake upgrade on his vRS...ask him! B)

Thanks will do!

I've heard that going too big on the back could cause them to lock up tho - is this true??

can't wait to do this to mine, skoda really should have put the 312's on as standard.

:giggle: silly me, on the front, thanks for politely pointing out my 'deliberate' mistake :giggle:

Rears can go from 232 solids to 256 vented. The 256 rear setup is used on several of the higher performance VAG group cars. Sourcing them, make sure they're off a 2wd vehicle as the ones from a 4wd won't fit.

If you want to spend lots of money, ECS do a further upgrade to the fronts/rears... But then your wheels wouldn't fit. ;)

Would 256's on the rear improve braking noticeably or would it mainly be for looks? I presume in comparison to the fronts the rears don't do much
