Car is lacking power again, hesitant at low revs, I think it's got a split boost hose or N75 dodgy

No the scanner plugs directly into the car, the linked cable is to run a copied version of VCDS on a laptop.

These scanners are limited to what they will do do, but if all you want is a code reader and to erase (most) codes then it's a cheap way of doing it, don't expect to be able to change any settings with it though.

Thanks guys, I thought as much - yes all I want to do is read them and erase them (obviously after trying to fix/work out if something IS broken, not simply erasing to ignore!)
