As the title.

My insurance renewal is up....

I'm 26 with 5 years no claims, last year I was insured with More than and pay £480. My renewal has now gone up to £600 for no apparent reason!

What do you guys pay, and who with?

Thanks!

(I have a Mk1 vRS)

Ok, so I've managed to find it for £440 with a £100 excess which seems reasonable to me (quotemehappy.com)

Question now is, would you protect your NCB? Hopefully I wont, but if I did need to claim would they not take the accident into consideration anyway, and put my premium?

Also, if I moved to another company, would they still accept that I had 5 years if I'd made a claim?

Thanks

23, all mods declared, £700 adrian flux

Adrian flux told ne last year that accident would cost me 2 years of my no claims and add about 300 to policy for having made a claim and that was before they took into account no claims discount. I don't bother protecting mine

£560 fully comp, £150 excess, 25, 5 years NCB

£800 for 03 octavia elegance diesel AND a 07 fiat grande punto. I'm 28 with 5 years NCB and a accident claim in 2008 and with my wife 24 on a provisional licence through admiral multi car.

You are mental.

Recent experience has show TPFT policies to be more expensive than fully comp!

Cost -approx £240 ,fully comp -with breakdown/legal/personal cover and £100 excess.

But ,confession time .

I'm 64 ,with 45 years licence ,for NCB 9 years ( more like 20).

My daughter foun that putting dad on policy got her more than £100 off .Might drive -might not - but been timesshe's left it at mine ,so it's handy (and at least I'm of some use to kids at last) .

One last word of warning - IF you give a broker your moble /landline -RESTRICT call to policy admin ONLY -some will take it that you've given permission to plague with telemarketing calls .I'm having this problem with Hastings at moment .So no brownie pointsfor Hastings on that score .

Another point to look for - if you get a quote on something like the meerkats site ,and phone the broker to ask for help and then decide to proceed - they may add £10 (introductory ) to the policy .In my case ,I decided this was a better gamble than paying on line ,with a low spec/low security laptop .

36 with 14 years ncb, living in a dodgy area £480 fully comp, all mods covered with Brentacre.

1100tpft adrian flux 24 1year ncb all mods declared recent accident and 3 points low crime area.

What other people pay will not really help you other than to see which insurers are being used.

Please try the club insurers.. you can contact Sky Insurance on 0208 3645500.

23, 1 years no claims, octavia 1.9 tdi ambient, £1800 fully comp, would have been £2600 if i went on my own without using my girlfriend as the proposer and me as a named driver lol

Unless you live in the North West ;)

Unless you live in the North West ;)

We have many, many customers insured in the Northwest area but unfortunately we have some extra criteria to be met for some postcodes and some postcode exclusions where we have been burnt before.

Thanks for your comment though, I assume we have not been able to help you in the past, it is worth checking back again by PM when you are up for renewal, some of our criteria and exclusions have been relaxed.

Kind regards
