Calling all Greenline owners

Featured Replies

Good morning,

Looking at the Yeti Greenline in Elegancy spec with the following options

  • Regency Green or Candy White. Not sure yet
  • Gobi Sand Interior
  • Single Electric Towbar
  • Electric Adjustable Drivers Seat and mirrors

Interested to know what the real world figures are on MPG that everyone is getting in their Greenlines

I've a 4 day demo at the end of the month so wanted to compare them.

Thanks

Richard

Funnily that is a thread I started about our Greenline II Fabia.

We also have a Greenline Yeti in the family and it's currently averaging 53mpg. But at less than 1000 miles on the clock.

Having seen how the Fabia loosened up over the first 6000 miles I'd be disappointed if it's not around the 60mpg mark driven sensibly.

emoticon-0106-crying.gif Indeed! I remembered there was a thread about the YETI Greenline's MPG and when I found that one assumed that was it without looking at the top to see it was in the Fabia II section! Doh.

If you push it hard on the motorway (70/75) you will be lucky to get between 45 & 50. However, if you are prepared to keep to around 55ish, driving carefully, then you can get to about 63 on the display. My car has got 6000 on the clock and is 6 months old. I'm very pleased with the car so far but the only gripe both my wife and I have is the seats are uncomfortable on long journeys.

I normally get as good as that in a standard 110 2wd, I would hope that if my next Yeti is a greenline that it would do even better.

Typically cruising at an exact 73mph (calibrated) when possible my maxidot gives between 48 and 56 on a long journey depending on terrain and wind direction.

I have seen 65mpg on a long A road drive at 50 to 60 mph. When really trying I have seen 73mpg, and the best ever range reading after fillup was 780 miles(based on last 50 miles driven I believe)

If the greenline can't beat this by 10% or more its probabbly not worth paying the extra?

Thanks for your feedback.

I'll let you know what i achieve with the Demo Yeti

I would have bought the Greenline anyway.

In SE spec it's £390 more expensive.

But importantly it includes ESP as standard, on a standard SE there is no ESP, it's a £410 optional extra.

ESP should be standard on all new cars and shortly will be due to EU rules I believe.

Throw in similar performance (0.5 seconds slower to 62mph), cheaper road tax (£85 less per year!) and slightly better economy and for family use it looks like good value for the minimual list price increase over a 110 2l diesel.

With this in mind I can't see why you'd go for the non-greenline 2wd diesel unless you do a bit of towing possibly?

Well for myself it wasn't available at the time, I would certainly consider it now, although ground clearance is important for me as I often have to drive down tracks etc, although nothing that needs a 4wd fortunately.

Best is a boggling 68mpg (tank to tank).

Lot of A road driving on that one.

Worst is the last tank to tank refill which was down at about 52mpg.

Mostly city driving / heater on type stuff.

I think my average on fuelly is about 57mpg (but is skewed by that one decent run).

I'd say 55 to 56 mpg is about what i would normally get.

Edit:

All of the above is tank to tank (and not "what is my best on a given run").

Thanks Alley Cat.

That confirms that a 10% reduction on manufacturer figures is about right.

I got mine Wednesday evening and have put 500 miles on the clock. The Maxidot reckons an average consumption of around 59mpg this was over a mix of country lanes, urban (Cambridge in the rush hour) and heavily congested motorways.

On a brand new engine I reckon that is not a bad figure, I wasn't pushing the car to hard but wasn't hanging about either (75 mph on the motorways).

This was a pretty typical journey for me so I'm hoping that plus 60mpg should be achievable once the engine has bedded in properly.

The Yeti is fantastic to drive and very comfortable, the road holding is a real eye opener, compared with the C-max I've just got rid of the Yeti is in a completely different league
