Pickup scuttle panel

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where i can get a replacement panel for the scuttle on my '98 pickup (a felicia item would work too) I've heard this part refered to as the 'water deflector' panel too. It sits below the windscreen and is prone to rot. I need a weld-in replacement panel.

If anyone has any idea where i may find such a thing, i would be very interested to know!

Thanks in advance,

J

Some of the panels are still available from the dealers squire, and they are not as expensive as you might think, but often you have to wait like 3 weeks for them to arrive or more.

hi there is it the metal part

Thanks for the replies guys,

Yes it is the metal panel beneath where the windscreen sits (Prone to rust by all accounts).

I have spoken to a few VAG parts specialists and am being told the same thing from all - the part is no longer made and they have no access to new old stock!

I have now started fabricating a new panel in house - Although i would still love to get my hands on a weld-in replacement panel if anyone does happen to know of any in existence!

Cheers,

J

i'd have to check the bodywork manual for the felicia/pickup but i seem to remember that panel being one of the very first to be attached to the rear engine bay crossmember so it would be an absolute pig to replace because other adjoining panels are then subsequently spot welded to it... might be better off just patching it up tbh.. nobody will see it anyway tucked up in there

Yeh its not the easiest area to work on! It has now been welded and sealed so problem solved!

I did look at this panel on in the bodywork manual, forgot to reply...

The scuttle panel is an integral part of the panel between the front a pillars which holds the windscreen right up to the roof skin... It would be an almighty ball ache to change it..
