eibach springs

Featured Replies

Have decided to keep the octavia and would like to carry out a few mods starting with a set of eibach springs. Two questions: A previous post mentions a problem with the tyres fouling the arches when fitted with spacers, are the spacers fitted purely for aeshetic reasons or is it because the tyres touch the inner arches with lower springs? Also has anyone used midland vw near cannock?

Cheers.

Purely aesthetic to fill the arches out better. Also feels more planted with them on I think. I've not had any problems with fouling arches but mine's a hatch.

Spacers are mainly for visual but as mentioned do make the car feel a little more planted.

Midland VW fitted my spacers and springs and just last week they re aligned the wheels for me after a pot hole.

Great firm, great service, great cafe next door.

I bought the Skoda additional lowering springs (Eibachs - now limited availability) from a dealer for £130 in July. I didn't want any issues with warranty as it is a company car. I was quoted £175 to fit including re alignment by MVW but for reasons not concerning them I had a local garage carry out the work to include fitting of hub spacers (purchased for £55).

I am very pleased with the result but as you are aware I now have a problem with tyre contact on one of the rear arches. Nobafett runs the same set up with no problems so this may not be an issue for you either. HTH.

Has anyone fitted the eibach red sportline springs which sounds like they came from skoda for estates on a hatch?

Does anyone have any pictures of these fitted to a hatch and what is ride quality like? I need to convince the wife

Not sure but thought Eibach red coloured springs were pro-kit and the sportline were black in colour. My pro-kit springs were red. With only a 20mm drop. Sportlines were supposed to have a bigger drop nearer 40mm to 50mm. :wonder:
