New vRS Ordered!

Featured Replies

Just ordered my new vRS. I went Candy White hatch in the end after much thought. It was between race blue and white but the white just edged it as pretty much every vRS I see is race blue.

Does anyone have any nice Hi-Res pictures of the vRS in candy white.

Now just to sell my magic black MKII :)

Mine should arrive Middle of Feb. I have asked the dealer to try and keep the vehicle back until March so I can get a 12 plate :)

What spec and deal did you get?

Good choice by the way!

Had mine in white since July, love it, yes its white, yes it gets dirty, yes it drives mad, but what the hell it looks bloody great!

Enjoy the car!!! Couple of photos for you!

Nice choice Shane, when do you expect to take delivery?

There are 30-odd pics of my white VRS hatch on my Flickrsite, if you select any picture and go to the Actions drop-down thingy on the top left you can choose different sizes, some of which are fairly massive.

Would also be interested in what lead time you've been quoted.

I've decided to bring forward my plans of buying a new VRS next September to March so will be ordering very soon.

I'm currently debating Race Blue or Anthracite Grey!

Good colour choice, Ive had mine since June and clean it every 2 weeks, now the muck on the roads is starting to gather I can see myself cleaning every week :S .

One issue I have is that it attracts idiot drivers who cant see a white car with DRL's in their mirrors as i seem to get cut up more in this than my previous A3.

Defo the biz in white..cleaned mine TWICE last week....

Not so much cut up but slow down or move over as they think I am the Constabulary (especially when flooring it out of the slow lane in pursuit mode)!

I ordered approx 3 weeks ago and was originally told feb 12 (keep till march 1st), now being told end nov 11, ready to collect early dec approx. So going by this 12 weeks roughly. Still going to collect march 1st (I have a good dealer to work with!, they will hold it off) :)

Mine due in Jan with DSG and new alcantara red stich interior.

I've been ummming and arring about what colour I should the wheels. Either gloss metallic black or white old school!

Yours look well but I can't get proper view on iPhone, what colour are they exactly?

Have they got a flick of metallic in them?

Depends which ones you mean, there are pics on my Flickr page with the standard 18" wheels painted (I would need to check but I think the colour they are painted in is Skoda Titan Grey) which is a metallic finish and there are also pics there with my 19" VMR wheels on that are lighter grey but still have a slight metallic finish.

The metallic finish on my 18" standard wheels is a lot more noticeable though.

Nice pics guys! Car has been given a build week of 05 in 2012. Hopefully they can delay it until March for the 12 plate. I have gone completely standard although I will add RNS510 after I get the car myself as its cheaper that way :)

That's pretty quick! I was thinking I better get in gear to get a March delivery but sounds like I shouldn't panic.

I may end up using your dealer, as you've previously mentioned their ability to do a deal etc and drive the deal is not ideal if like us your in Scotland

I would phone them and ask for Drew. Mention I put you onto him, hes really helpful. My mate has bought 3 VRS's from him, Ive ordered mine and my mum has just bought a Monte Carlo from them too.

Bryan

I have gone completely standard

Hope you specced spare wheel and maxidot though....

Nope. Never needed the spare wheel on my current vRS and the standard dash display is fine for me. What does the maxidot do differently?

Edited by shane_saintsfc

Lucky you, I needed it twice in 6 months and a tyre of tyre crap wouldn't have done.

Maxidot besides looking better lets you change config things on car that you would only be able to do on vcds but then again you've got no options to configure!

10 to 12 week lead time at minute, but it's coming up to Xmas so may be quiet.

Best speak to your dealer as lead times may increase after.

I specced out a vRS via Drive the Deal and the final figure was more expensive than after going through the Skoda configurator and subtracting 20% for the No VAT deal. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong there as a lot of people say to use the Drive the Deal price to get it even lower.

Was there much in it? Drivethedeal has their commission included.

Believe the price on the Skoda configurator will be done to include, delivery, initial costs, plates etc so you cant just take 20% off the figure that gives you as the figures wont be right, where as the DTD price is already adjusted to take account of those types of costs hence why it looks slightly different.

Personally for me, whilst the DTD price was good, my dealer was only a few quid off, and I got a few extra goodies thrown in for free so its swings and roundabouts, and for me there something about negotiating a deal with the sales people, its just good fun!

You can't just take 20% off the price, you need to make sure the maths is right.

For example the full price vRS TDI hatch is £21,155 on the road. If you just took off 20%, it would be £16,924

What you actually need to do is use the brochure and take away the VAT amount that has been calculated from the base price. VAT on this model is £3,410, so it's actually £17,745.

Drive the deal is then around £16,865

Hope that helps.
