Condensation In Car :(

Featured Replies

Well im wondering what this is! Very annoying.

I've had the door seals resealed and there's no wet in the footwells...

Have I missed something?

Thanks

Same here...

Pollen filter?

Could alway get some larger silica gel packets and keep in car...

Mine has always been like this, inside ia dry but always get condensation,

Also the heater always seems to clear the passenger side far quicker than the drivers side, that's very helpful lol

On mine there tends to be patches of condensation on the windscreen just over where the vents obviously are, is this what you mean?

In which case I think it's relatively norma, I've seen it a fair bit

It's a right pain in the bum! My mum has a Nissan x trail and it happens badly in that and the garage say it's a common problem.

As for pollen filter I had a whole service with everything changed only two months ago so I should hope it wouldn't be tht....

My whole screen get misted, put demister on before it's warm and then I get the patches over heater lol,

Just had some of these delivered.

Try these

its water vapour basically coming from the condenser cooling the air down and collecting moisture after running the A/C

when you start up again the moisture is revapourised but then condenses again on the nearest cold surface AKA your windscreen

to avoid either dont run A/C for last few miles before you switch off, or open all windows to remove warm air before you switch off car.

Weather conditions tend to exacerbate the inside condensation too. I tend to carry a large microfibre with me to soak up as much as possible and ensure dried outside the car, not inside, as you're not moving the moisture then.

One ofThese should help, just make sure it's

somewhere where it can't be knocked over or spilt.

Maybe just leave it in the car overnight and take out before you set off

each day

I just put up with it too. I've found that E-cloth window cleaners are pretty good at clearing most of the water off then using the aircon to finish it off

Now these are good, I got them under my kitchen sink. (No really I have)

Thanks for the tips. I have had an industrial dehumidifier in the car after the seals for sealed and that removed a lot of water.

Suppose i will have try some of the options above.

Thanks

IMO there's a lot of things that can cause this.

Scuttle panel drains, pollen filter, moisture/condensation in the heater trunking, wet floors whether through the door carriers, windscreen, tailgate or because of a popped washer pipe.

Fix what can be fixed and buy a dehumidifier of some description. Might be worth covering the windscreen vents at night too.

Hey I have had the same problem but have managed to reduce this by changing the Pollen filter (which was full of leaves../?) and also opening the frost valve in the glove box, it will still steam up after getting in occasionally but nothing a quick blast of the heaters wont cure.
