Door wont open

Featured Replies

Is there a safe way to get the door card off a vRS when the door wont unlock? The CDL motor has decided it likes being locked all the time. I cant see a way of taking the card off without damaging it.

Ive got the same problem.

me too iv got the same on drivers side back door... wont unlock or open

Try hitting the lock with your fist while operating the remote un/lock..... you might get lucky. Otherwise you will have to remove the door card - it should pull off (the torx screws will remain in the card, attached to the plastic blocks (which will probably break and need to be replaced)..

Follow formal procedure for removing the doorcard first (tweeter, other screws, etc).

It is also worth checking the unlock/lock controls from the panel inside the door too.

Mines the same too.

I like the Sound of trying this pikey fix!

Which part of the lock should I try hitting!?

I took the door card off earlier on my rear nearside door. Not entirely sure what to do next though, can't get to all of the torx screws to remove the lock mechanism.

Just on the onside of the door, near to the handle - a slight vibration might help free things up.

Mine did this and I got it open by hitting the outer handle while pressing the remote.

I have since soaked the lock with WD40 in any opening that I could get into with the little tube and manually exercised the lock and it is still working at the moment. I had the same problem about 12 months ago and the WD40 trick has prolonged its life until now.

I have now bought a new rear door lock mech as this one is obviously on borrowed time but they are not cheap (about £84 + vat :( ).
