Featured Replies

hi guys, i recently bought a 10 plate scout as a tow car. now horrified to find that dealer cant supply mud flaps. dont want any flying debree to hit front of caravan.any idea where i can get decent flaps from.dont want to make up diy flaps

It is rather strange. Of all of the Octavia models you'd think the Scout would be the most sensible version to provide mudflaps for - with it's off road intentions.

The standard Octavia mudflaps can be made to fit but need modifying. There was a thread showing how to fit front and rear flaps but the only one I could find is for the fronts only:

Even if you decide to try this there are lots of complaints about the effectivness of the genuine Octavia flaps, they sit too high to be effective.

It would probably be easier to fit protective film to the front of the van...

I followed the instructions that Silver1011 linked to in his post - a bit of a faff but they've been on for a year now with plenty of mud thrown at them and no problems:
