Rattle/Vibration noise on Yeti

Featured Replies

I have an annoying rattle/vibration on a brand new Yeti. Its coming from infront of the passeneger and if i had to place it i would say the engine bay but don't rule out inside the cabin. Its only noticable when the engine is under any kind of mild strain such as acceleration, if i hear the noise in 4th but take the load off by dropping it to 3rd the noise goes (this is not an engine or gearbox noise but a buzzing vibration)Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking before i get onto the dealership......if its an easy fix i will do it myself to save a 50mile roundtrip and hassle.

I seem to remember a past comment about the cover on the widscreen pillar vibrating, so perhaps try pushing that when it does occur.

Hi could be the air con pipes in the engine bay on the right when looking under the bonnet running up the bulkhead. there was a post here way back simmiler problem to yours with a photo of how to fix with a cable Tye cant find the post at the moment, the vibration was only at certain rpm

Check the two screwcaps on the aircon recharge sockets. I had a loose one and it made the noise you are describing. It just needed tightening up (but only finger-tight) and all was well.

Job done. The rattle turned out to be a brake pipe that had to be "relocated" on the bulkhead as is was vibrating under any kind of engine load. Fault quickly found and fixed by my local dealer
