Vomit on car seats

Featured Replies

Well our son has been sick in my car car before but only usually the milky variety, and barely if any got on the seat. But today whilst taking my nephew and his dad a lift out my nephew was sick rather a lot in the back seat, mostly all over the grey alcantara section and main seat base.

Now I've given it a good clean and mop up but obviously the smell still lingers. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of it quickly before I try something like febreeze?

Many thanks.

No ideas I'm afraid Ian, but I hope you get rid of it soon, just makes me want to heave too :(

After picking up my other half from a night out she did the same on the cream part of my seat , I ended up using a rug doctor to fully get rid of the stain

Thankfully I'd put some stain guard on similar to scotch guard, so I don't think there is any staining, just the smell.

Also with having to brush out the bits it's kind of wrecked the fabric weave on the seat base grrr.

Not had to do it in the car but for carpets, because the yuck is organic, I've has some success with using some biological washing products to kill off what was causing the smell to linger.

Other suggestions include a spray of alcohol ( vodka) to neutralise it or you could try coffee grounds/cat litter/bi-carb to absorb the smell

Cheers Wap, also might try a steam cleaner on it, not much to lose as the pilw on the fabric part is now ruined.
