VRS - simple electrical fault?

Featured Replies

I'm hoping it is anyway.

What happened is,I when I slid the interior roof light across, the mechanism inside broke, the spring fell off and short circuited something.

The 10 amp fuse blew

I replaced it

Then the electronic display, mpg, miles etc got fixed at a set mileage and at 45 miles left the reserve light didn't come on either.

I have just reset the display and batter terminal lead and filled the tank up.

The only problem now is that the display usually reads 500 odd miles when I put £45 in,now it is only reading

300.The analogue gauge is reading full though.

Anyone know what has happened?

I think 1st of all you need a interior light!

Will that solve it? Yeah you are right I need a new fitting. Will something like that affect other functions then

No it won't sort your problem, but it will start you off somewhere!

I had the same problem with a Skoda once upon a time! I ended up just going on as usual it sorted it self out!

It seems like it's resetting itself back to normal now.The mile reading is going up.Cheers!

I may have a interior light some where in my shed, as I have just purchased some interior, let me know if your interested!!!!

Pretty sure the 'Miles left' reading is based on recent driving.. So if you were driving like a loon prior to fill up, it will give you a very pessimistic reading :giggle:
