SD/MP3

Featured Replies

Frustrating but all music is on I Tunes/I Pod which will now in latest edition not allow to convert to Mp3 can only change new downloads.

Would like to covert some 9gb of music on my windows 7 laptop to put on SD

Any ideas? All my music is in Apple version and I have some Cd`s many were borrowed so cannot reload as MP£

Did download some softwear which brought some ASK files that took some shifting and did work but would take several months to convert any volume

Latest 10.1 of I Tunes no longer has the option of creating an MP3 version.

Cheers

Peter

Did you try Sony Media Manager yet?

Hi is it free?

Actually i tunes is on a Vista laptop.

Think I may end up burning some CD`s in MP3 and loading onto Windows Media player on other laptop , 128mps how many fit on a disk.(I relly should be able to work that out!)

Cheers

It is free - have a look at my post in the other thread.

Basically, install - open - make a playlist of the tracks you want - insert SD card - right click on the SD card on the left - tell it what playlist to use and what bit rate for mp3 (320 is best) - it will then sync and convert as it goes.

Nice thing is that it scans your SD when running and only adds missing files so easy to update.

I use it as it avoids duplicate files on my laptop and I don't have to reduce quality on my originals.

Hope this helps

Steve

Odd. I got I tunes to convert not only new purchase but existing tracks into MP3s @ 192Kbps.

You can import an existing track from a CD and you just adjust it once it's in the library.

Edit - Preferences - Ask to Import CD - Import Settings: Import Using: MP3 Encoder, Setting: (What ever you want it to be 128-192 or Custom), Tick Error Correction for CD's & then OK.

Now import a track from another source at a higher bitrate into the library, then select the track in Itunes, right click and it should have the Create MP3 version there, click it and it should do a conversion into the bitrate of your choice. It does for me.
