I have just found out that my gearbox is broken the 1st and 2nd synchro has broke so I'm going to change the complete box.

What gearboxes will fit and how can I find out the code on my gearbox as the car is currently parked up in a garage.

You can phone Skoda, and by giving them your registration they will tell you the gearbox code.

All 02M gearboxes will fit. I have fitted a longer ratio 02M from a Seat Ibiza FR to my fabia. There's a wide range of codes out there too, with three choices of ratio:-

My current one is code FSM. Stock fabia vRS (most of them) is the HDS (etc) range of boxes with that ratio.
