1.9TDI ALH engine mount

Featured Replies

Hi! Having a bit of a nightmare getting the drivers side engine mount back on after changing the timing belt. I somehoe managed to get it off in the first place but nowI just cannot get it back on...any tips on how to do this? It's the bit that bolts to the engine around the timing belt.

I have never managed to totally remove mine (bolts undone), but it rattles around in the area never came out), on my ASV).

Can only suggest jacking the engine up/down a bit (I assume you have a trolley jack under the sump. Upwards travel is limited by the dogbone mount.

I was a bit worried about jacking the engine up too far. I'll try again later..thanks. Wish I'd never taken it off!!

With the dogbone mount attached that will stop it going too high. On mine, I found doing up the bolts between the engine and the mount a right b@ll ache.
