Anyone fitted Eibach Sportline Springs on a Vrs Hatch?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a set of Red Eibach lowering springs from Skoda (sold for the Estate). I was wondering if anyone has fitted a set of these to a hatch? If so roughly how low did the hatch sit?

I know Eibach state 40-50mm but I was not sure if it lowered the hatch as much as the estate? Does the estate even lower 40mm on the Sportlines?

Pics would be amazing if anyone had any... :giggle:

Thanks for your help

This still confuses me as I can't believe Skoda sold 40/50mm sportline springs as the options state 'sports lowering springs 20mm' which would be the pro kit

I also have a set of black pro springs ment for the hatch.

Will compare part numbers when I go out to the garage next.

Does make sense as I've seen a few with them dealer fitted and they look lower than mine on pro springs and the ride is very firm by all accounts.

I had the red skoda accessory eibachs on my vRS estate. It lowered it about 20mm.

I could go to the time of fitting both I guess lol

I wonder if the part numbers on the springs are the same on Sportlines from Eibach and the Eibachs from Skoda. Might email Eibach on the weekend B)

Eibach only list "pro" on their web site.

Quick check on part numbers..:

RS combi pro kit part number: E10-79-004-04-22

Front spring: F11-79-004-02-VA

Rear spring: F11-15-007-01-HA

RS hatch pro kit part number: E10-79-004-02-22

Front spring: F11-79-004-02-VA

Rear spring: F11-85-014-05-HA

..so, based on that the front spring is the same on both hatch and estate, but the rears are different.

HTH.

btw - the kit is the same for petrol or diseasal.

Cheers Rob, will check my spring part numbers against the codes.

Expect I will sell both to be honest. Had a reasonale price from dpm for some weitec coils.

Well if you do decide to sell give me a shout cos i'd be interested in them. Mine's a vRS combi too so the springs should be compatible.

I had the red skoda accessory eibachs on my vRS estate. It lowered it about 20mm.

+1 but never found out what the Eibach equivalents were/are. When meeting up with Moley his hatch on Eibach's seemed a touch higher than my estate.

From a previous post you had:

The front springs have "Eibach T/P RSD ED - 4075 - 06 Front" printed on them.

The rears have "Eibach 15/07 RSD ED - 4237 - 06 Rear Est".

Both are red in colour.

The ones I have got have:

Eibach RSD ED - 4075 - 06 Front

Eibach RSD ED - 4076 - 06 Rear

Both are red in colour. Maybe the ones I have are for a hatch as there is no EST printed on them.

My Black Pro Eibachs are new standard ones from Eibach so normal 20mm drop. One thing I have noticed though is side by side without any weight on the springs, the Red ones are slightly shorter.

I have attached some pics for ref if anyone is interested. I might call Eibach in the week and ask if they sold a sportline spring for the MK2 ( doesn't seem so looking on the Web) and maybe see if there was a reason for Red and Black? Shame they don't have an email address I can find lol

I expect I will just go with coilovers, but still nice to leave the option open of using springs an dampers.

I found a useful contact in Eibach who was happy to answer a few questions of mine.

Sure most of you already knew this, but I wanted to double check what I had sat in my garage.

  • Eibach only ever sold Pro Kits for the MkII Vrs hatch and estate. So no Streetline, all springs lowered approx 20mm drop.
  • The Pro-Kit springs sold were both Red and Black in colour.
  • Standard Pro-kit from Eibach is still available and are black in colour. Skoda will of had both black and red coloured springs.
  • The part numbers I posted above from the red springs are for a Vrs hatch and obviously a Pro-Kit.

So I appear to now have 2 sets of VRS Hatch Pro-Kit springs 1 black and 1 red. If anyone wants a new set I will put them in the for sale section soon lol :giggle:

Thanks for clearing that up. It would be nice to know why Skoda stopped offering this option.

Its good to clear that up finally :)

However it still doesn't explain why they are not the same length..! Must be something to do with use..

;)

That is what I thought Rob, only real explain.

Length of springs..might explain why my estate is a touch lower than your hatch Moley...

These are my estate OEM supplied springs before fitting...looks like the same part number for the front...unfortunately I didn't turn the rear springs so the part number is shown..

LOL You can just make out the RSD on the rears...

I need to read the thread more...I can't remember posting back in July (have trouble remembering what I did last week)...what was the question again? :giggle:

I think you will find that the red ones are a Eibach Sport line supplied through Skoda with a 40 mm drop less the 15 mm the Vrs is already lowered so a 25 mm drop. The Black ones are Eibach Pro Kit with a 30 mm drop less 15 mm for the Vrs is 15 mm drop.

I believe the sportline was deveoped with Skoda and that is why the records are poor.
