Can some one help. What is the n249 bypass and what benifits do you get from doing it.

The N249 system allows the ECU to open the diverter valve if it wants to. The DV is a mechanical system that does the same job, and removing it can smooth out the power delivery, as well as tidying up the engine bay and removing a few pipes.

If you look at the inlet manifold on 20vt engine, its one of the 2 valves on the bracket thats bolted to manifold,

One valves for egr valve and other the n249 and it controls the dump valve on engine, if the engine over boosts it opens it to bleed pressure off,

I did away with egr valve and both valves on front of engine, also did away with secondary air pump aswell,

The advantages, well it tidys engine bay up and you dont have the pump noise on a morning, if you remove them you can put resistors in like i did but it still put warning light on, i had them mapped out when i had car remapped

Removed my N249, N112, SAI, gets rid of a lot of pipes, fitted catch can looks alot tidier under the bonnet, and the car also feels alot more responsive.
