Et45 Offset wheels on my vRS

Featured Replies

Just wondering if I could fit some ET45 alloys to my vRS..........

Would this make them sit further in or out, and I have 20mm hub centric spacers, so would this help?

Anyone tried fitting any?

Cheers!

What's the standard ET on the Mk1?

If it's higher than 45, they'll sit further out, if it's lower, they'll sit further in

I'm not sure, but I think that they are Et38. So 45's would just sit 7mm further in?

Correct

Not sure if this will help, but the offset is measured from the face of the hub/wheel interface to the centre of the wheel. Imagining a cross section of the wheel is the easiest way to get your head around it. So yes, a 45mm offset, will sit 7mm further in than a 38mm, but only if the rim width is the same for both wheels

These were et42 so your looking at another 3mm inwards not that your would really notice it tbh.

Other way around, lower offset wheels sit further out.

I think the way I worded it it meant if the standard ET was higher than 45, 45s would sit further out, and vice versa

Have another read - sorry if it was confusing
