Mrs Statto had a bit of a prang yesterday (ran into the back of someone at a roundabout) and has stove in the grille & buckled the bonnet a bit. She's worried that it might have affected the radiator, and I'm reluctant to open the bonnet in case I can't get it back down again. I have a vague memory that the radiator is around 6 inches behind the grille as a crumple zone - can anyone confirm please?

You are going to have to open the bonnet at some point to add washer fluid and check the oil, I suppose you could choose to do this on the forecourt of a Skoda dealer or at home but either way you can't drive for months never opening the bonnet.
