Caliper sliding pins

Featured Replies

Hello!

I'm just changing front brake pads at the moment on the car and was cleaning up the sliding pins when i noticed that one pin has a rubber sleeve and the other doesn't. The one without the rubber sleeve is the bottom pin and this is the one that is really tight and not "springy" like the other one. Is there anything that i'm missing ? Should there be a sleeve on the other one too? many thanks in advance. The simple job is starting to drag....

Hi,

Both should have sleeves fitted, part number for sleeves and pin 6Q0 698 470, £12

Are both top and bottom sliders the same shape? As when I removed mine last night my bottom one was tight and had grooves around it but it moved freely when fitted in the top. The top slider was smooth and when fitted in the bottom moved freely.

Should they be fitted this way or has someone in the past fitted a wrong one?

my top and bottom slider pins are different the lower one has an inline rubber sleeve on it does anyone have a part number for that one as its definitely different than the top one.
