60.4 mpg :D

Recommended Posts

Went to North West Wales for a long weekend, driving back today via A487 and A55 then M6 and A50 got 60.4 average mpg!! Never had the average above 55ish so chuffed. The A487 and A55 are lovely roads, nice and smooth with hardly any roundabouts.

I've got a mate at work who gets more than that fairly regularly but he's got a BLT whereas I've got an ASZ..

I lurve my Fab :)

Mine is standard bar 312mm brakes and polybushes, I have heard a decent map can increase economy

My trip two was about 54mpg for the trip there and back

Used about three quarters of tank for 400 miles

There is a big difference between my usual 80/90mph and the 65/70 I was doing today when it comes to economy

Anything made before October 2005 reads fairly accurately (certainly not more than 1-2% out) but on the BLT engined later cars the fuel economy readouts are a total joke. There is a calculation error somewhere in the ECU and they all read massively high. 65MPG indicated is actually about 50MPG usually.

I normally get 40-50mpg indicated out of the 1.4 16v...I thought I was doing so well!

I will normally get in the region of 10 miles per litre actual, working out at 45 mpg, so it seems the computer is fairly good on my 53 car...

Mine is a 53 plate, must be one of the earliest and seems fairly accurate.

My girlfriend noted whilst we were away that I've had my Fab over a year now and I'm not looking round for another car which was quite unusual :D I said to her it does absolutely everything I want, there is no reason at all to want to get rid of it, its such a fantastic all round car :) :) 3.5k to buy, good economy, reliable, quick, stops very well, air con, elec windows, cd player looks fairly cool (even though mine is quite a few different shades of yellow after 105k miles.....)

Agree with this

My trip 2 is showing 64mpg over approx 1500 miles. In reality it's 54mpg.

On my drive to work I regularly see high 70's on the trip 1 figure.
